While on Helion prime a certain race comes to bother the people as there have been reports of planets being silenced. Is there a literary version of the Razzie Awards, because the winner for must have been this stinker. Two stars because there were some parts that were readable, but this cake is not worth the bake unless you are a true Riddick fan.


I’m not a big fan of this author’s writing style or the way the plot was laid out in this book.

Would love to read more about the Necromongers and their rise to power. Several other novels, including the Icerigger trilogy, are also set chroniclees the world of the Commonwealth. There is nothing in the book other than a small tacked on section at the end that is different from the movie.

The scene in the Necromonger command ship is extended, identifying the Purifier as something a,an a Necro Pope, in charge of all conversion and lower ranking “priests” which also wear ribcage hats. She sees him thinking through a hard situation and she assumes that under his dark glasses that his eyes are concerned for the welfare of the other escapees.

I normally love Alan Dean Foster but I was disappointed in this. The book didn’t have any extra info, it was just like watching the movie but slower and less fun.

Foster lives in Arizona with his wife, but he enjoys traveling because it gives him opportunities to meet new people and explore new places and cultures. Here is a monster to fight off the other monsters, not because he cares but because fighting for mates and meat is what monsters do. This was a disappointment because isn’t that the very reason we prefer the books over the movies?

However, the movie was more realistic. There are many minor scene extensions, and some narrative focus on design elements that are only implied in the film such as the reliance on older, sturdier mechanization in the Crematoria Slam Facility.
