Why would earth do an exchange with planet L’eihr if earth had only a vague understanding of them? Their actions mirrored the plot’s needs, and in turn their personalities were kept hazy. She and her boyfriend split up very convenient because of the alien thing and her best friend, didn’t want to be with her for the same reason. Then when his visit is “over” they switch place. The premise of an unemotional Vulcan-like race The lesson here is that acceptance and compassion win the day over hate and bigotry. The irrational behaviour of the students at their school, echoed by the parents of the students, quickly escalates from a few threatening notes to Cara and Aelyx needing armed escorts.

The ending of Alienated has me anxious and excited for the second book, Invaded. Cara gets a free ride to any college she chooses out of the deal, some excellent material for her blog, and a chance to be a part of history, helping in her own way to form an alliance between the two races.

See all reviews. Not to mention you’re dating the hottest guy in school, running a blog, and working on the weekend which is when most debate competitions are. There’s a very strong pull towards an oncoming love triangle, but that aside, I’m thinking book 2 will have llanders work hard to not catch the middle-book bug. Also, there landees some political commentary here that I will leave here: In all honesty, I wish I could rate this book higher than a five-star.

I felt so connected to the characters that I could feel the emotions overflowing from the pages. Okay, back to the gist. I was the quintessential ‘goody-two shoes’. So to me, the characters were already lazy because the author didn’t bother to research into her character’s interests.
